2018 Andersonville Sustainable Community Alliance Events
Andersonville Shedds the Straw
On Friday, March 2, 2018, Andersonville is uniting to #SheddTheStraw! Shedd Aquarium and the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce are partnering on an exciting launch event to inspire Chicagoans to reduce single-use plastic pollution and to promote the wonderful restaurants and businesses of the Andersonville neighborhood.
Join us for a free screening of the documentary STRAWS at the Swedish American Museum in Andersonville on March 2 at 5 p.m.
STRAWS is a short documentary about plastic straw litter and how we can make a sea of change…one straw at a time. Directed by Linda Booker (Running time: 32 mins)
There will be a discussion and Q&A after the screening with a Shedd spokesperson and members of the Andersonville community.
RSVP today! Space is limited: https://s.myfeedback.io/

Annual Dinner Crawl & Dessert Crawl
Andersonville holds its annual Taste of Andersonville Dinner Crawl each year in August and its annual Dessert Crawl each year in October. Eco-Andersonville is proud to offer composting at both annual crawls. Compostable plates, bowls, dinnerware, cups, and napkins are donated to the businesses participating in the Dinner and Dessert Crawls. All items and food can then be placed by the crawl attendees in composting bins provided by our partner vendor, Collective Resource. This ensures that each year’s Dinner & Dessert Crawls are ZERO-WASTE events!
