The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to partner with Shedd Aquarium and more than 20 Andersonville restaurants to “Shedd the Straw” by only serving single-use plastic straws on-demand or by offering a biodegradable option. The campaign was first introduced by Shedd Aquarium on Earth Day 2017 with a one-day call to action across the city of Chicago. Click here to learn more about Shedd the Straw.
We made a neighborhood-wide commitment that will directly benefit our Great Lakes region with an official launch event on Friday, March 2 at 5PM.
Andersonville’s Shedd the Straw campaign kicked off during Andersonville Restaurant Week (Feb. 23 – Mar. 4) and will continue to build a permanent presence in the neighborhood. The campaign’s official launch event occurred on Friday, March 2 with Shedd Aquarium hosting a screening of the short documentary “STRAWS” at the Swedish American Museum (5211 N Clark) at 5PM.
