The day will be chock full of exhibits and information about composting, planting with EarthBoxes, installing rain barrels, using essential oils for better health, free bike tune-ups, fun kids’ activities, making homemade Kombucha, and brewing beer. Trash bags and gloves are available for cleaning up the litter, as well a raffle for all people who volunteer to help pick-up trash. Free coffee too, so bring a coffee mug. This year, more than two dozen independent bookstores in the greater Chicago area are collaborating on a third annual #ChiLoveBooks Challenge, which encourages book lovers to indulge in bookstore tourism by visiting 10 or more stores in a single day. The W&CF front window will also be decorated with a “Books in Bloom” display.
