HOLIDAY EVENTS 2016
Looking to celebrate locally? Ring in 2017 in Andersonville, with events happening throughout the neighborhood.
Look out for Santa, a Viking, a bell-ringer, a goose, and other revelers as this procession kicks off the holiday season in Andersonville! The procession starts at 11:ooam at the Swedish American Museum and continues up and down Clark Street, stopping in businesses to wish customers a happy start to the holiday season.
Andersonville businesses kick-off the holiday shopping season with the nationally celebrated Small Business Saturday. Shop small and partake in fun raffles all day, hosted by The Runner’s Edge passport program.
Andersonville stays up late for the Late Night Andersonville festival! From 6-10pm, stores and restaurants will be offering great discounts on distinctive gifts and delectable after-hours meals, plus free refreshments and entertainment.
During the yearly Julmarknad festival, the Swedish American Museum features a handicrafts fair with traditional Swedish food and entertainment. In addition, select Andersonville businesses join the fun with FREE music, refreshments and more.
A candlelit, carol-filled procession down the sidewalks of Clark Street, followed by singing and treats at the Museum. Admission is $1, or a toy or a can of food to benefit Care For Real, Edgewater’s food pantry.
During Late-er Night Andersonville, the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce fills an available-for-lease storefront at 5653 N. Clark with a winter wonderland of apparel and gifts for the little ones! The pop-up will also serve as the “North Pole” headquarters for meeting friends and picking up additional brochures/maps for Late-er Night.
Are you a procrastinator when it comes to holiday shopping? Then join us for our second night of Late Night Andersonville, just a little “late-er” than usual. From 6-10pm, take advantage of the same discounts from Late Night Andersonville, plus once again enjoy free entertainment and refreshments.
Help Edgewater’s food pantry make a difference in the lives of families in our area during our annual toy drive. There are many opportunities to drop off toys in local businesses or at Andersonville holiday events. Last year, Care for Real distributed more than 4,000 toys to over 800 children, helping 350 families have a more joyous holiday season.
