Frightwalk at St. Benedict’s | October 18-19 & October 25-26 | Times Vary
It’s waiting for you at the bottom of the stairs! ENTER the heart-stopping walk through the basement of St. Benedict’s Parish and see what all the SCREAMING is about. Tickets: $8.00 at the door, $4.00 for each repeat experience the same night as initial ticket.

Halloween Events at The SoFo Tap | October 24-31
Neighborhood bar, The SoFo Tap, hosts an array of Halloween events starting on Thursday, October 24 with pumpkin carving on the patio, and continuing throughout the week with Doggy Days Halloween edition, Hocus Pocus Trivia, and a Halloween Costume Party.
That’s Weird Grandma: Goes Trick-Or-Treating | Through November 3
Stories about ghosts, haunted orphanages and spooky horrors imagined by Chicago elementary school students will be sure to get audiences in the Halloween mood! PlayMakers Laboratory, formerly Barrel of Monkeys, is pleased to launch its 2019-20 season with a spooky twist: THAT’S WEIRD GRANDMA: Goes Trick or Treating, directed by Artistic Director Brandon Cloyd, playing Sundays at 3 pm from October 6 – November 3, 2019 at the Neo-Futurist Theater, 5153 N. The Urban Pooch HOWL-O-WEEN Party & Costume Contest | Wednesday, October 23 at 6:15PM: Join Urban Pooch Training & Fitness Center (5400 N Damen) for their annual Howl-o-ween Party & Costume Contest. Doors open at 6:15PM with contest starting at 7PM. Event includes a FREE photo with a Spooky Background, Beer, Nibbles and FUN TIMES. Please register in advance here.

Howl-o-Ween Pet Parade | Saturday, October 26 from 10AM-12PM: Join Heal Veterinary Clinic or the annual pet parade, hosted this year at Stay Dog Hotel. Activities include doggy costume contest, photo booth, trick-or-treat vendor parade, and gift bags! Admission is $20 per family (cash only) and is split 50/50 between beneficiaries Horner Dog Park and Alice’s Fund. Heal as also partnered with Stay Dog Hotel and the AKC Health Foundation to help raise $50,000 for research to find a cure for Canine Hemangiosarcoma, a rapidly growing and highly aggressive cancer affecting the heart and other organs in all dog breeds. Each dollar contributed will be matched by the Heltzer Family of Stay Dog Hotel up to $25,000.
Andersonville Halloween Parade | Saturday, October 26 at 10AM: The 48th Ward and ETNA Block Club (Edgewater Triangle Neighbor Association) will team up this year for the annual Halloween Parade! This year’s event will take a costumed stroll from Peirce Elementary School to Gethsemane Garden Center on Saturday, October 26. Meet at the playground at Peirce (1423 W Bryn Mawr) beginning at 10AM. The parade steps off at 11AM!
Annual Children’s Fall Festival | Saturday, October 26 from 10AM-4PM: Join the folks at Gethsemane Garden Center for the annual Children’s Fall Festival! For the spookiest time, attend the event in your favorite Halloween Costume.
Trick or Treating along Clark Street & Costume Contest | Saturday, October 26 from 12-3PM: Get your costumes ready for Trick-or-Treating in the Andersonville business district! AlleyCat Comics will once again be hosting this sweet event by offering a costume contest with celebrity judges Alderman Andre Vasquez and Bambi Banks. Check in for the contest begins at 11:30AM and lasts throughout the day with a winner selected at 3:30PM.
We are looking for Crossing Guards to help our costumed kiddos cross the street for trick or treating from 12-3PM. Click here to sign-up and let us know your favorite candy!
Haunted Storage Units at Honore Storage | Saturday, October 26 from 12-3PM: Stop by Honore Storage this Saturday during Andersonville Trick-or-Treating for a mini-scavenger hunt for candy through a couple “haunted” storage units! Our spooky storage units are decorated for kids of all ages.
Laura Doherty performs at ENJOY Andersonville | Saturday, October 26 at 1PM
Bring the kids in costume to see Laura Doherty perform, then trick or treat at participating businesses in the Andersonville neighborhood! Free admission.

Thriller Flash Mob Returns! Keep an eye out for “Zombie Dancers” from Gus Giordano Dance School! The dancers will be performing THRILLER & MONSTER MASH at Clark and Farragut at 3PM. You won’t want to miss their amazing performance.
WANT Ghostly Garden | Saturday, October 26 from 5-6PM: It’s that time of year again and West Andersonville Neighbors Together is planning its annual Ghostly Garden event in their lovely West Andersonville Garden at Ravenswood & Berwyn. This is a non- scary event designed for families with small children. Come in costume. Games, treats, and prizes will be provided. We hope you can make it!
Summerdale at The SoFo Tap: The Horrors | Saturday, October 26 from 9PM-3AM
Check in at The SoFo Tap for a thrilling evening of murderous music and sinister tales. “Summerdale” author David Jay Collins will be your host for the night, appearing as the mysterious landlord Mr. McGreevy from his Andersonville-based horror novel and sharing a scary tale or two (think Vincent Price in the Thriller video)! Enter the Summerdale raffle and you could win signed copies of the “Summerdale” paperback, Summerdale tees and packages of terrifyingly tasty “Summerdale Crunch Caramel Corn,” courtesy of (and now available at) Candyality. Bar Roma Halloween Costume Contest | Thursday, October 31 at 8PM: Eat, drink and be scary! Join us on Thursday, October 31 for our annual Halloween Party and Costume Contest.
