Pegasus Players is proud to kick off its 30^th Anniversary Season with the Chicago Premiere of David Edgar’s topical two-play cycle, Continental Divide: Mothers Against & Daughters of the Revolution. Corresponding with one of our country’s biggest presidential elections, Continental Divide will be performed at Pegasus Players, 1145 W. Wilson Avenue in the O'Rourke Center at Truman College, October 1 – November 9, 2008.  The official opening night for Mothers Against is Monday, October 6, 2008 at 8pm, for Daughters of the Revolution is Friday, October 10, 2008 at 8pm or both performances can be seen back-to-back on Saturday, October 11, 2008 beginning at 3pm.

Internationally acclaimed Tony Award-winning British playwright, David Edgar, takes a stab at American politics in the two-play epic, Continental Divide.  This topical two-play cycle – to be performed in repertory as opposed to Edgar’s two part adaptation of Nicholas Nickleby – is set against the background of a bitterly fought gubernatorial election.  Mothers Against follows Republican Sheldon Vine’s campaign as they prepare for an upcoming debate, while Daughters of the Revolution follows Democrat Rebecca McKeene’s campaign as a key appointee tries to discover who knows about his potentially embarrassing and criminal past. 

Ticket and Schedule Information:

Continental Divide: Mothers Against & Daughters of the Revolution runs October 1 – November 9, 2008.  Preview performances for Mothers Against will be Friday, October 3 & Saturday, October 4 at 8pm; and Sunday, October 5 at 3:00pm.  Preview performances for Daughters of the Revolution will be Wednesday, October 1; Thursday, October 2; Tuesday, October 7; and Thursday, October 9 at 8pm.  Preview tickets are $15.

The official opening night for Mothers Against is Monday, October 6 at 8:00 pm and for Daughters of the Revolution is Friday, October 10 at 8pm, additionally back-to-back performances (dinner break included) will be held on Saturday, October 11 beginning at 3pm with Mothers Against followed by Daughters of the Revolution.

Performances will be Thursdays through Fridays at 8:00 pm, Super Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm (more information below), and Sunday matinees at 3pm at Pegasus Players, 1145 W. Wilson Avenue in the O'Rourke Center at Truman College, Chicago. 

Super Saturdays will allow audiences to see both shows beginning with the first play at 3pm and the second at 8pm, a dinner break will be at 5:30pm.  Pegasus Players has partnered with Magnolia Café (1224 W. Wilson, directly across the street from the theatre) offering theatre-goers 20% off their meal on Super Saturdays.  Super Saturdays will be every Saturday throughout the run---Oct. 11, Oct. 18, Oct. 25, Nov. 1, Nov. 8.
