Executive Chef Christopher Tong of the upscale private gourmet dining service, My Private Chef,
will make his first appearance at the Whole Foods Market Lakeview, 3300 North Ashland Avenue,
Chicago. He will conduct a cooking class on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 7-8:30 p.m.
The cost is $50 per person.
The cooking class —Simple But Elegant Dining— is designed to offer hands-on experience in
preparation, cooking, and presentation. The recipes use readily available ingredients and are quick
and easy to prepare. Chef Chris will provide tips on shopping for the freshest seasonal ingredients.
You will learn how to prepare a delicious three-course menu and come away with valuable tips
and some great recipes.
The menu features:
Wild mushroom bisque with chive and drizzled with white truffle oil
Pesto-marinated Salmon fillet baked in parchment paper over wild rice blend,
topped with julienne vegetables, Shiitake mushrooms and white wine
Strawberries with 3-year old Balsamic vinegar and ground black pepper
