What is the SSA? The Andersonville SSA (Special Service Area) #22 is a funding tool used by the Andersonville community to maintain a clean, attractive, and competitive commercial district. The funding comes from a nominal tax levy on each commercial property within the SSA service area. The boundaries of SSA #22 are Clark Street from Ainslie to Victoria and adjoining side streets up to the alleys. The SSA supports the following programs:
2012 Andersonville SSA #22 Meeting Schedule: All meetings are held at 9:30AM at US Bank, 5340 N. Clark.
Andersonville SSA #22 Reconstitution Andersonville SSA #22’s initial ten-year term will expire at the end of 2012. In order to continue SSA programs and services, efforts are underway to reconstitute or extend the SSA for another 10-15 years. The SSA reconstitution advisory committee has met to create proposed budget, work plan, and tax cap for the new SSA. An explanation of the SSA and the proposal will be presented for review and feedback at these community meetings, open to the public: Wednesday, May 2 6PM – 8PM Monday, May 7 9AM – 11AM The public will also have the opportunity to provide feedback at a public hearing at city council in the fall of 2012. All property owners within the SSA will be sent a notice in the mail about this hearing.
