The Swedish American Museum serves as a cultural beacon and community gathering space and at its helm since 2006 is Karin Moen Abercrombie, Executive Director of both the museum and Brunk Children’s Museum of Immigration (pictured here).
Founded by Kurt Mathiasson in 1976, the museum features a permanent “Dream of America” exhibit on Swedish immigration, as well as rotating Swedish and Swedish-American art in the gallery space, Swedish merchandise, and events throughout the year.
We recently interviewed Karin about the Swedish American Museum on #AlwaysAndersonville: The Podcast Episode 3.
The Swedish American Museum is one of over 20 businesses profiled in our 2018-19 Andersonville Neighborhood Guide. Check out more business spotlights via our homepage.
